Dusty Johnson, a self-styled ordinary, everyday woman, responds with extraordinary heroism when saboteurs try to bomb the prototype of Earth’s first starship. She wants to return to anonymity, but that burst of courage propels her ever deeper into dangers that tear the scabs off her dark past — and thrust her into the arms of the unattainable man of her dreams.

Reese Eaglesbrood, an alien prince, yearns to restore his tattered reputation by guiding the starship project to completion, but his fascination with the unassuming heroine threatens to undermine his fragile authority. Shunning Dusty is necessary, yet unthinkable — and when the saboteurs strike again, she may be his only ally against Earth’s most elusive enemies.

XPost – Uh…yes, it WAS her problem #mfrwbookhooks

Since I didn’t post in this weeks Book Hooks, I thought I’d highlight the snippit from the new release, Rescuing Prince Charming by
Ed Hoornaert.

To set the stage, Dusty Johnson and an unknown guard have found a time bomb hidden in the guts of a prototype starship. A narrow tunnel is the only access to the room where the guard holds the bomb. Not trusting each other, they trade insults, sounding each other out.

Intrigued? Then read the snippit.

Cover Reveal – First Change: Legends From the Eyrie

Designing a cover. Do you want a tantalizing scene of the fantasy word? Your name is larger print that the title? Or a half-naked hunk?

These are a few thoughts that went into the design of the cover for First Change: Legends From The Eyrie.

What made things more challenging was that this was the fifth volume set in the world of the dragshi. For those who haven’t followed them, the dragshi are more than just a man or woman, but two beings—one human, the other a  dragon. The pair share one body in space and time and are able to change forms with the other at will. But be warned, a dragon form comes with more than just the freedom of the sky.

Unlike the four full-length novels which recounted the tales of the trader girl Anastasia and the Dragshi Lord Branin Llewlyn, First Change is a collection of several novellas and short stories. None of the tales are related other than they all take place in the world of the dragon shifters. The events take place in a different era, with different characters.

A cover design could use elements from all the stories or from just one. In the end, Fire and Ice was used as the basis for the cover design. The setting of the Nerelan equivalent of the Far East, a beautiful empress, and the green token that determined her fate were the elements selected. And so without more ado, here is the cover for First Change: Legends From the Eyrie. And thanks to Fantasia Frog Designs for creating it.

Georgianne Whitley’s beloved father and brothers died in the war against Napoleon Bonaparte. While she grieves for them, she must deal with her unpredictable mother’s sorrow, and her younger sisters’ situation.

Georgianne’s problems increase when the arrogant, wealthy but elderly Earl of Pennington, proposes marriage to her for the sole purpose of being provided with an heir. At first she is tempted by his offer, but something is not quite right about him. She rejects him, not suspecting it will lead to unwelcome repercussions.

Once, Georgianne had wanted to marry an army officer. Now, she decides never to marry ‘a military man’ for fear he will be killed on the battlefield. However, Georgianne still dreams of a happy marriage before unexpected violence forces her to relinquish the chance to participate in a London Season sponsored by her aunt.

Shocked and in pain, Georgianne goes to the inn where her cousin Sarah’s step-brother, Rupert, Major Tarrant, is staying, while waiting for the blacksmith to return to the village and shoe his horse. Recently, she has been reacquainted with Tarrant—whom she knew when in the nursery—at the vicarage where Sarah lives with her husband Reverend Stanton.

The war in the Iberian Peninsula is nearly at an end so, after his older brother’s death, Tarrant, who was wounded, returns to England where his father asks him to marry and produce an heir.

To please his father, Tarrant agrees to marry, but due to a personal tragedy has decided never to father a child.

When Georgianne arrives at the inn, quixotic Tarrant sympathises with her unhappy situation. Moreover, he is shocked by the unforgivable brutal treatment she has suffered. Full of admiration for her beauty and courage he decides to help Georgianne.
